WoW Priest Guide
There are 10 different classes to choose from in World
of Warcraft, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The priest class is a popular choice because
the priest is a classic and iconic element of fantasy gaming.
Players who enjoy healing are frequently drawn to the priest class, but priests in World of Warcraft can do a lot
more than just heal. Like most classes in WoW, priests are fairly complex, so it helps to have a World of Warcraft
priest guide to refer to.
The most defining elements of any class in World of Warcraft are its talent trees. Once a character reaches level
10, they gain one talent point every level that they can spend to improve their character. Each tree has a unique
identity and role, and playing one talent specialization is very different than the others. The three talent
specializations for the priest are: Discipline, which focuses on single-target healing and damage prevention, Holy,
which focuses on group healing, and Shadow, which focuses on dealing damage.

Leveling up a priest can be slow going unless you decide to play a Shadow specialized priest. The Holy and
Discipline trees are focused heavily on healing, so they aren’t very good offensively. While they can easily heal
themselves through the attacks of many monsters, it takes them quite a while to whittle away a monster’s
health.
Shadow priests, on the other hand, can do a lot of damage but don’t have the same healing ability. Shadow priests
use a lot of abilities which are known as damage over time spells, or DoTs. The idea behind a Shadow priest is that
they drain the life force of their enemies, so these priests have abilities that heal them whenever they deal
damage to an enemy. Shadow priests also bring a lot to a group.
Their energy draining powers can also restore health and mana to the priest’s allies in battle. Discipline
and Holy priests really shine in groups, where they can play the primary healer role. Discipline priests revolve
around using protective shields, and they’re especially useful against monsters that hit one character really hard.
Holy priests, on the other hand, are at their best against enemies that do smaller amounts of damage to whole
groups of players. In small groups, either type of priest can be an effective single healer, while in larger groups
they each have their own roles.
Another important facet of customizing your character is what professions you use. For priests, one of the clear
choices is tailoring, which allows the priest to craft cloth armor that he or she can use. Since the cloth used in
tailoring drops from all sorts of enemies in the world, it’s easy to fine materials. Tailoring often goes
hand-in-hand with enchanting, but enchanting can be a difficult and expensive profession to level, so choose
wisely.
It can be tough starting out as a priest, because until about level 20
there’s nothing you can really do to speed up leveling. However, don’t get discouraged because priests are very
powerful at high levels. Remember that you can always consult a World of Warcraft priest guide if you find yourself
getting stuck.
