WoW Paladin
Guide
Introduction
Many people believe that the Paladin is where it’s at in World of WarCraft. If you played WarCraft 2, you
certainly know why people would have a love affair with the Paladin. After all, the Paladin is the knight of the
World of WarCraft, a shining testament to the old ideas of chivalry and sacrifice.
Advantages
It is also very game-friendly, being one of the real hybrid classes of the game. You can develop your Paladin
such that it acts like a tank, heals other units or does both. At the same time, you can also do just about
anything you want with the Paladin and wield just about any weapon that exists in the game. The plate armour they
wear is nice, as is the fact that shields come into play at a very early level 40.

At the same time, the Paladin has the best survival chances in the game and gets a normal mount for free at the
start. You can also take a quest to upgrade that normal mount to an epic mount. You can tank quite well with a
Paladin, fighting many units with one unit and soaking up some serious damage in the process. The Bubble effect is
a nice one too, synergizing with the already impressive tank and damage soak potential that the Paladin brings to
the table.
Disadvantages
The Paladin, because of its versatility, is actually a complicated class to strategize for. There is no
mechanical thinking involved when you are playing a Paladin. Additionally, they are surprisingly immobile
considering their free mount starts. They do poorly against magic and you need to have a lot of good gear to play
them well.
Race Selection
When it comes to race selection for a Paladin, you have one of the highest levels of flexibility currently
available in the game. The main reason for this is that as a Paladin, you have the stats to overcome just about any
starting deficiency that you might get from a particular racial selection. Since most races offer a magic and a
physical bonus, you as a Paladin cane take advantage of both of them. Unlike other classes where race selection to
a large point will determine your starting strategy, Paladins can really do anything with anything if you know what
you’re doing. To that end, all you have to do in order to play a Paladin will is know how to play basic strategy
for them. Race selection is really not that important. In fact, with a Paladin, you could probably just pick the
race you think has the coolest looking one.
Basic Strategy
Now that you have gone through the basics of generating your starting Paladin character, it comes down to basic
strategy once again. The idea with the Paladin is that you would like to take full advantage of having a tank class
that can also heal. This allows you to fight groups of enemies and blow through them all while at the same time
healing yourself after the combat and then doing it all again. There is no need to be subtle with Paladins, so go
out there and make your people proud!
