WoW Blacksmith
Guide
When you are dealing with the issue of blacksmithing in the World of WarCraft universe, the
first thing that you need to understand is the concept of synergy. When two things combine in such a way to
produce a result that is greater than the sum of their parts, you have a synergistic effect.
There is a synergy between blacksmithing and mining. Being able to claim the mining skill will greatly increase
your blacksmithing abilities because you need to purchase the materials from the auction house. For this reason, a
great strategy to pursue would be to develop both your blacksmith and your mining skills.
Beyond that, you can start in Old Azeroth and learn apprentice blacksmithing from a trainer in that city. From
that point, use rough sharpening stones to get your first 30 levels in the skill and then rough grinding stones to
get the next 35. End off the final 10 in the first group by using copper chain belts.

Once you hit level 75, you can learn the blacksmithing journeyman skill and use coarse grinding stones to gain
your next dozen levels. Reach for level 100 rich runed copper belts and then use silver rods to get to level 105.
You can then continue on with 20 more levels from rough bronze leggings, ending off at level 125 in this
section.
Once you hit level 125, you should learn the blacksmithing expert skill. Continue with heavy grinding stones
until you get to level 150, filling in five more levels afterwards with golden rods. Green iron leggings will
contribute ten more levels, with dedication to green iron bracers bringing 25 more levels after that. Finally,
build golden scale bracers until you get those final ten levels you need to hit level 200.
At level 200, get the blacksmithing artisan skill and build truesilver rods until you get to level 205. From
level 210 to level 225, build heavy mithril gauntlets to gain those subsequent levels. When you are at 225, switch
over to mithril scale bracers to get to level 235. For the next 15 levels after that, build mithril coifs. For the
next 10 levels, build dense sharpening stones. Finally, for the final 15 levels in this section, build thorium
bracers. If done properly, you should not be at level 275.
At level 275, start by learning blacksmithing master from Outland
and then make arcanite rods until you get to level 290. At that point, switch over to thorium boots until level
300, before going to the fel weightstone for five more levels. Construct fel iron plate belts until level 315, fel
iron chain gloves to level 320, fel iron plate boots until level 325 and lesser runes of warding until level 330.
Your next two groups of five levels each should come from fel iron breastplates and adamantite cleavers before you
get ten more levels to hit 350 from lesser wards of shielding.
Once you get to level 350, you can go to Northrend and get your final skill of blacksmithing grand master. At
this point, getting those final 100 levels should not be that difficult. Simply keep on acquiring the materials to
build progressively higher items and you’ll get there quite easily.
